Hi Steve, thank you for your feedback. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. The kit that was ordered is compatible with the 900 ACE engines. The kit for the 1,503 and 1,630 engines does come with 3.5 quarts. I'm not sure which engine or model that you have but this could be the reason for the incorrect amount of oil and filter.
